Job Search Blunders - Five mistakes Networking

As director of employment services company, I saw a lot of do's and don'ts when it comes to finding a job. In the network, while an effective strategy for landing a new career opportunity in a way that limits the opportunities, rather expanded to do that. Here are five common mistakes and networks are some strategies to correct them.

1. You go to a networking event and a wallpaper, because you do not know anyone. The point here isto meet new people. My best advice is to find and talk with other Wallflowers. They are probably just as nervous as you are and be much easier if you start a conversation. If necessary, a pre-event target on at least three new people to speak during the event. With a measurable goal can help you overcome your aversion trends.

2. You meet someone and you have no business card. Need a professional way to quickly get people to stopfrom you. Get a simple card and spend it. Ensure that clearly explains what you are doing. People have a lot of cards and want to remind them of it, why do it to you. If you find the work to be sure, always have your business card on you. You never know when or where you could have a conversation leads to the next position.

3. You think that the network is performed only during specific events and industry. In reality, the network includes everyone, everywhere. You must ensure that all I know you're looking for a job with family and friends. Do not forget to spread the word on your social media. If all your friends will pass the word to their friends.

4. They do not claim a clean, neat appearance. Now that you've learned that you are constantly on the net, try to always look presentable. This does not mean that you are getting a dress or a tie, but nothing trench (temporarily) that you do not want to, if necessary, as> Job come. This also applies to your vehicle and its accessories.

5. You are so desperate to find work that will be strong. It can be scary business, and the search for a new job, an interview can dominate your thoughts and your own. The problem is with despair that there are people uncomfortable and hinders their ability to connect with you. Try to be friendly and welcoming, not needy. People like people who can relate to them. Finding a commonRange of the conversation as quickly as possible. Once the connection is initiated, the chance to start.

It will help you determine how the objectives are aimed at finding a job for the right job
It will help you communicate the value you can bring in a company
It allows you to give to others the information needed to help

Mistake # 3:

Not able to communicate clearly how you measurewhat the company needs

See bug # 1 If you can show how you can contribute your skills and strength to a specific need for an organization, you simply are not relevant to society. This requires that you do your homework to find out what the needs of society.

Learn as much as possible about the priorities and needs, and then use their own language to describe what you can do for them.

Mistake # 4:

InappropriateResearch on the target company is

The impossible is possible you present yourself as a viable solution for a need, unless you know what is needed.

The company's vision and mission (which reflect the important words, the employer
Key objectives and priorities
issues (internal or external)
General financial health

Use information sessions networking with people who know the company to know the culture and what it means to work there. Never approach a company if you wanted it first!

Speaking at the companies that fit your ideal parameters and show what you could bring the value of your organization, you can be pulled down for a considerationPosition that had not been removed, or ... does not even exist!

Mistake # 6:

Submit your material to the wrong person

Internet is much easier approach to business. Too easy. Companies receive hundreds or thousands of times, always by e-mail. Where to go for? For the office staff. Most of the comments are considered before.

If you want to be considered for a job, you need to get the material in the hands of the rentalMakers.

Begin, who he is. If a speculative approach, using a reference network for the production of direct contact. If the answer to a position of advertising, please follow the instructions - the funds will typically through HR. If you do not get an answer to write a letter to the hiring decision and reference to the fact that you have already sent the information to HR.

Remember that HR does not decide the setting!

Mistake # 7:

Notalign with "Impact Stories" Your life interviews

Blogs are boring to read. They are needed, making the dry, bare bones of your experience.

Resumes rarely convince someone to hire them. What convinced someone to hire the stories and examples to share your recent accomplishments. "Impact" stories to take your life skills to explain exactly how they used to get a result. They help you to believe that the decision to use the same skillssolve its problems.

Enter the decision to stay a little reminder. Share your stories Impact!

Mistake # 8:

Businesses do not open the door to a destination network

They target a specific company. You have identified those responsible for setting decision. You customized your resume. Are you ready to send a cover letter with your resume. Right?

Wrong. For decision makers, you can also see how each other ... document without a face (orNumber of megabytes). People hire people, and listen to the trust. With a referral from someone who knows, you are automatically qualified for the exam. In fact, with policy makers a reference is actually committed by his relationship with your entry materials.

If you do not know anyone in the company, consider participating in online networking site to find someone who does not.

Break from the pack ... get a referral!
